Development for kmMail 2.0 has begun after a "brief" break from development. New features will include profiles, multiple attachments, a new login system, new mime multipart capabilities, and hopefully address book support.

kmMail 1.0b.1 Released -- Security Update   2002-07-05 16:12 - kmMail
kmMail 1.0b.1 has been released today. This is a small release, but fixes a cross-site scripting vulnerability. Anybody using any previous version of kmMail is advised to upgrade to 1.0b.1.

In previous releases, SCRIPT tags (along with several other tags) were removed from HTML parts. However, javascript attributes within "safe" tags were not examined. This is fixed.

kmMail 1.0b Released   2001-11-22 18:30 - kmMail
kmMail 1.0b has been released today. It is a minor bugfix release to replace a function used in 1.0/1.0a, introduced with PHP 4.0.6, with a manual version of the function, thereby making it compatible with PHP >= 4.0.0. (kmMail 1.0a was an unannounced release identical to 1.0, except the version number in settings.inc was populated.)

For the next 5 days, kmMail will be in a code freeze, pending the 1.0 release scheduled for Monday morning, October 1st. (October 1st is also the project's 6 month anniversary.) What you see in CVS is what will be in 1.0.

Unfortunately, I am unable to provide a demo environment to test kmMail. I used to provide this service, but it was abused too often. I encourage you to download kmMail, but hopefully these screen shots will also help.

• The welcome screen, which of course can be easily customized.
• The mailbox. This shot demonstrates three mail states (read, unread and deleted) and four mail attributes (HTML parts, regular attachments, message attachments, and replied to).
• The message reading window.
• The folders window.
• The compose window. Note my poor attempt at humor.
• A demonstration of embedded images in messages.
• A warning popup can be activated to warn users before downloading attachments.

I provide an announcement list for new versions of kmMail. This list is extremely low volume, and is encouraged for anybody who uses kmMail.
